Bioptica are consultants in the safety of lasers and of other sources of optical radiation. We provide independent, professional support to both manufacturers and users of laser equipment, covering the development of laser products and the application of laser technology in industry, science and medicine, backed up by over 30 years of experience. We offer reliable and cost-effective expertise to supplement your own in-house resources, or to provide the special skills and professional knowledge your organisation may need.

Laser safety training
We run seminars and training courses on laser safety, tailored to meet the particular needs of our clients and designed to promote awareness of international safety standards and the use of effective control procedures. We can also provide training in other aspects of laser applications and optical technology, and help in the strategic planning of training programmes.
Safety management
We assist in the safe implementation of laser technology through applications advice, system reviews, safety audits and the development of in-house safety procedures. We can be contracted to act as an organisation's laser safety adviser, helping employers to meet their obligations under health and safety legislation.
Manufacturing requirements
We help manufacturers of laser equipment to comply with international safety standards, and to meet relevant requirements governing product safety (in both Europe and in the USA) including system classification, necessary engineering design features, and the preparation of associated documentation. In addition, we can provide customer-based safety training and applications support working in conjunction with, or on behalf of, the laser supplier.
